You hear those sleigh bells ringing and see holiday decorations shimmering? If you haven’t started decorating for the holidays, you’re in luck!
Here’s our list of the top holiday décor trends for 2021.
White Christmas Tree
A popular colour trend for new homes this year has been neutral—soft gray tones with white and beige accents—so having a glistening white Christmas tree to match makes sense.
In previous years, the white Christmas tree was meant to be a statement piece decorated with bold blues, bright reds, and golds. In 2021, they are blending in with the furniture, decorated with light blues and silvers.
Homemade Holiday Wreaths
Have you ever seen a grinch-themed wreath? Everyone on the Instagram Shop tantrum is personalizing something, and this season, we’re seeing beautifully designed wreaths that range in sizes, colours, and your favourite holiday movie characters.
Hang it on your front door or make it a stunning centrepiece on your dinner table.
(Non) Gingerbread Houses
They’re sweet, tasty, and now come in your favourite chocolate treat. Stick with the traditional gingerbread or try the new village of KitKat, Oreo, and Hershey’s chocolate. You can find them at your local grocery or home décor store, including Canadian Tire, Longo’s and more.
Unique homemade candles
There’s nothing better than the smell of the holiday season—pine, winter mornings, fresh baked cookies and more. Now, handmade soy candles are in vogue, sculpted in distinctive shapes, including bubble squares and snowflakes. Shop at SOBOXY or Solstice Shop in the GTA.
You can find a few of these wonderful candles at Bath & Body Works, where they have a collection of holiday scents that will fill the room.
