Our Favourite Fall Hikes in the GTA

Our Favourite Fall Hikes in the GTA

by Treasure Hill Homes

Autumn is a chance to watch the world change in front of our eyes. And there’s no better place to appreciate the vibrant assortment of greens, reds, yellows, and browns is on the local parks and trails.

Here is a list of a few of our favourite trails in the GTA near our current and upcoming communities.

Vaughan

Evoke Modern Towns located at Dufferin St. & Rutherford Rd. and The Arthur located at Keele St. & McNaughton Rd. are both sold out communities situated approximately 16 – 20 minutes from the below parks.

Boyd Park Conservation Area

A winding path that is 4km long and takes you away from the suburban neighbourhoods and into nature. Explore the little offshoot trails flanked by tall, mature trees. This is a popular camping ground, where you can go walking, biking, or hiking, even just for the day.

Nashville Conservation Reserve

This looping 3km trail is generally an easy hike and a prime spot to see the leaves change colour. It is a quiet reserve that is great for bird watchers and those looking to catch a glimpse of other wildlife.

Newcastle

Belmont in Newcastle is at Rudell Rd. & Flood Ave., 7 minutes from the waterfront and 5 minutes from the natural trails.

Samuel Wilmot Nature Area

This Lake Ontario waterfront 3.5km trail is something to behold in the fall. Wilmot Creek is well known in Newcastle as an environmentally friendly wetland preserve, which means lots of wildlife. Due to the creek and common wildlife, it is preferred to not bring pets but if done so, just ensure they are secured on a leash and remain close by.

The Lion Trail

A short 2km walking trail that you can easily explore on your lunch break or for a quick catchup with friends, while admiring the fall leaves, of course. Not much of a hiking spot, but a good escape if you are a runner.

Oakville

Situated in Upper Oakville, The Treasury is not too far from conservation trails for you to visit. Just over 10 minutes away, you’ll be able to take a break from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the quaint scenery.

Taplow Creek Trail

his little suburban oasis is 5km in length and connects two creeks’ parks, giving you plenty to explore close to home. If you enjoy mountain biking with a river view, this is the tail for you!

Joshua Creek Trail

Another 5km trail but bundle up because this trail goes right down to Lake Ontario. This partially paved trail is a relatively easy hike, but you’re still going to want to remember to wear proper shoes.

Richmond Hill

A community coming soon to you, Camden Crossing is located in a prime area for walking at Leslie Street + 19th Avenue, where these homes will be backing onto greenspace, so you’re within 5 – 10 minutes of walking trails.

Saigeon Trail

A well-maintained, spacious, winding trail perfect for walking with friends, family, and pets. There is also the option to go on the paved boardwalk which is more kid-friendly. The river views here are especially photo-worthy.

Richvale Greenway Park

Between the creek and the forest canopy you are surrounded by natural greenery at Richvale. The path ends at Mary Dawson Park where you can rest at the covered tables or continue into the neighbourhood.

At Treasure Hill, we know that location makes a home, which is why we ensure our neighbourhoods have something to offer every season.
